Getting there

Look for the office and industrial buildings near the intersection of East Raymond Street and South 40th Street, just southeast of Sky Harbor Airport. As you approach 4039 E Raymond Street, watch for the driveway entrance directly off Raymond Street leading into the business park parking area. After you enter the lot, continue past the first row of parking spaces and look for the building marked 4039 near the entry doors. The building has a low industrial-office design with parking directly in front of the suites. Park in any open space closest to the suite entrance, we have 15 minute drop off zones.

Ecaterina Avelar

Center Operations Director

Ecaterina is a former state educational director and now the Center Operations Director at South Mountain, dedicated to leading a passionate team in helping children achieve their goals. Originally from Downey, CA, she moved to Arizona and attended Grand Canyon University where she earned her master's degree in elementary education. With a strong belief in the power of teamwork and personalized care, she strives to create a supportive environment where both staff and children can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Outside of work, Ecaterina can be found having fun with her family, traveling, and baking or painting in her spare time.

Karla Matheu Sosa

Partner Clinician

"With two decades of dedicated experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Karla brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a compassionate, holistic approach to behavioral autism interventions. Beginning her career as a behavior technician in 2006, she has since navigated every facet of the field—from direct intervention to leadership oversight. Karla holds BCBA and IBA certifications along with state licensure, but her clinical heart lies in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). As a certified ESDM therapist, Karla integrates the ESDM with traditional ABA methodologies to focus on a play and strengths-based, naturalistic approach that prioritizes social engagement and developmental milestones across all domains. Having worked in home, school, community, and center-based settings; Karla is uniquely equipped to support families and help improve their quality of life. Currently, Karla is finalizing her Ph.D. in ABA, focusing her dissertation on advancing the field she has served for 20 years."
