Our Commitment
to
Safety
Your child's safety is our highest priority. Choosing care after a diagnosis is a big decision, often full of both hope and worry, and we want one part of it to feel simple: knowing your child is in good hands.
Safety isn't a box we check once. It's built into how our centers are designed, who we hire, and the rhythm of every day. We care for some of the youngest children in autism care, from 18 months through age 6, and we've built our whole program around keeping every child seen, supported, and cared for. Here's how.
The people who care for your child
A whole team surrounds your child, not just one caregiver. That means more expert eyes on their care, and more ways to help them grow.
Because so many specialists work side by side, we get to see your child from every angle. That means we catch concerns earlier and bring the right support together before small things become bigger ones.
Board Certified
Behavior Analysts
(BCBAs)
Your child's BCBA designs and oversees their care plan and leads the team, with layers of clinical oversight above them.
Registered Behavior Technicians
(RBTs)
Your child's daily one-on-one therapist, building a genuine relationship as they learn and grow together.
Speech-Language
Pathologists
(SLPs)
Help your child communicate and express their thoughts, needs, and feelings.
Occupational
Therapists
(OTs)
Support your child's sensory needs, motor skills, and feeding.
Psychologists
Lead diagnostic evaluations and support your child's mental health.
Developmental pediatrics providers
Help with challenges like sleep and overall well-being.
How we hire and train our team
We set a high bar at every step, from who we bring on, to how we train them, to who is watching over their work.
1
We hire selectively
Safe, high-quality care starts with the right people. We maintain rigorous hiring standards across our entire organization - including accepting fewer than 2% of applicants for our frontline RBT roles - to ensure your family is supported by a deeply qualified, passionate team of people who truly care about your child's growth and safety.
2
We screen carefully
Every candidate completes background checks and state child abuse registry checks, plus fingerprint checks where state law requires them. Anyone who doesn't pass doesn't move forward.
3
We train in depth
New team members complete Soar's own training program, built together with PhD researchers from our Clinical Advisory Board. Because everyone deserves access to high-quality education, we’ve made the entire curriculum free, publicly available, and BACB-accepted. Access the training here.
4
We check before anyone works alone
We supervise every step very new team member must meet clear, objective standards and earn their RBT certification within their first 45 days. Throughout their onboarding and beyond, therapists are closely supervised by BCBAs who maintain small caseloads.
Inside our centers
Your child is supervised by trained staff throughout the day, and our core therapy is designed to be one-on-one. A dedicated member of their care team is always with them, and that individualized support typically carries into group activities too, so a group of four children is usually supported by four staff members. Behind that, each of our BCBAs oversees only about eight children, far fewer than at many providers, so every child and therapist gets close, hands-on supervision. And our centers are built for visibility, with large windows, open layouts, and clinical leaders on the floor, so help is always close by.
A space built for your child
Our centers are made for young children, and made to feel like it: warm and welcoming, with bright colors, murals, and inviting places to play, all childproofed for the safety of children 18 months through age 6.
Toilet training, supported
We see toileting as an important step toward independence and access to less restrictive environments. We welcome children at every age and stage, with no restrictions. Our OTs, SLPs, BCBAs and RBTs support each child through it with patience and dignity.
Food you control
Families provide their child's food, so you decide what they eat, and many children also build feeding skills with their RBT, OT, BCBA and SLP.
Rest and clean spaces
Naps are available midday, and our spaces are cleaned and sanitized on a regular schedule.
Ready for emergencies
Our staff are trained to respond to emergencies, including fires, evacuations, and shelter-in-place situations.
Transparency you can see
We'd rather show you than tell you. Two of the ways we keep our centers open to families:
Cameras in every room
Every therapy room at Soar has a video camera, which supports remote supervision and gives families an extra layer of transparency. If a concern ever comes up, we'll review the footage and share it where privacy rules allow. Recordings are kept for 30 days.
Our door is always open
Once your child is enrolled, you're welcome in our center anytime, and we'd love for you to join us for sessions. You shouldn't have to wonder what happens after drop-off, you can come and see it.
Always learning, always improving
We learn from everything. If an incident or safety concern ever occurs, we implement a practiced response plan built on total transparency and swift action. Our staff responds immediately to ensure your child is safe and cared for, documenting exactly what happened and contacting your family that same day with a complete, honest account—as well as notifying regulatory authorities whenever required. From there, clinical leaders review the root cause of every event to adjust policies across all centers, ensuring a single moment makes every location safer. To strengthen these standards even further, we are also launching a pilot program called Beacon—beginning to proactively review care sessions using a mix of AI-driven and human analysis so we can catch potential issues early and continuously raise the bar for care.
1
Care comes first
Trained staff respond immediately to make sure your child is safe and cared for.
2
We write it down
We record exactly what happened, promptly and accurately.
3
We tell you, and the right authorities
Our policy is to tell families the same day, with a clear account of what happened and how we responded. When a situation calls for it, we also report to the appropriate regulatory and enforcement agencies.
4
We learn from it
Our clinical leaders review every incident and adjust our policies and practices to prevent it from happening again.
Frequently asked questions
Have a question we didn't answer?
We'd rather you ask than wonder. Reach out to our team, or schedule a visit to see a center for yourself and meet the people who would care for your child. Every child deserves to Soar, and every family deserves to feel sure about who they're trusting to get them there.
